Share Facebook links without the “fbclid”
Remove the parameters Facebook adds to links, like fbclid and mibextid. Done in your browser, free, no account.
Facebook link cleaner
Cleaning happens in your browser: the contents of your links are never sent to or stored by Miniurl.
How people use it
- Sharing a Facebook post or video in groups, forums, or chats without the parameters the app adds.
- Sending a link to someone you don't know well without tracking codes in it.
- Putting a Facebook link on a website, in an email, or in a document with a shorter, tidier address.
- Pages and businesses sharing their own posts without tracking parameters in the link.
- Cleaning several links at once, one per line, before pasting them into a chat.
Why use this cleaner
What is the “fbclid” in a Facebook link?
When you share or open a link from Facebook, the address usually carries parameters after the “?” sign: for example https://www.facebook.com/user/posts/123?mibextid=abc or an external link ending in ?fbclid=xxxx. The content opens the same with or without them.
This cleaner removes the most common Facebook tracking parameters. The list is based on the rules of the ClearURLs project, which includes “fbclid” and “mibextid”, along with others such as “__tn__”, “__cft__”, “comment_tracking”, or those starting with “hc_” and “fb_”. We have no official explanation from Facebook of what each one does: going by the name, “fbclid” looks like a click identifier, but that is our reading, not something confirmed.
Some parameters are left out on purpose, because on some Facebook screens they may be needed for the link to open properly. That's why the result keeps everything that isn't in the list.
That's why many people prefer not to leave those codes in links they share in public or with strangers. With this cleaner you paste the link and get the same link without those parameters, ready to copy. Everything happens in your browser: the contents of your links are never sent to Miniurl.
The short links fb.me and fb.watch can't be cleaned here: open them in your browser and copy the full address shown at the end. Removing the parameters doesn't change what you shared before or what Facebook knows about what you do inside the app. And if you also want a short link with click stats, you can shorten it with Miniurl.
