Benefits
What is a link tracker?
A link tracker is a tool that lets you measure how many people click on a link. It is essential for understanding the performance of marketing campaigns, social media, or any digital channel.
Instead of using regular URLs, you create trackable links that record clicks and provide useful data. This helps you make better decisions and improve results.
For example, you can create different links for each campaign or channel and compare which one drives more traffic. This is key for optimizing your strategy.
MiniURL helps you create short links and prepares you to track clicks and performance in a simple way.
Frequently asked questions
How do I track a link?
Paste the destination URL in the field above and click “Create link”. You get a short link: share it anywhere and every click is recorded in your account. If you're not signed in yet, we ask you to create a free account and then the link is created.
What data can I see for each link?
How many clicks it got, per day and in total, from which countries and cities, on which devices, browsers, operating systems, and languages it was opened, and which sites the visits came from.
Are clicks shown in real time?
Almost. On the free plan the data refreshes every 2 minutes; on the Pro plan, every 10 seconds.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
There's a free plan, no card, that includes the short link, click stats, and 30 days of history. To create the link and see the stats you need a Miniurl account.
Can I measure a campaign with UTM parameters?
Yes. Open “Advanced options” and fill in utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign: they're added to the destination URL, so your analytics tool, for example Google Analytics, also sees where each visit comes from. Miniurl also counts the clicks on the short link.
How do I compare the performance of different channels?
Create one short link per channel, for example one for Instagram, one for email, and one for WhatsApp, and compare the clicks of each in your account.
